Starting LIFT
Krista
founded Ladies in Flight Training (LIFT) in 2013 as a way to connect with and support
other female aviators when confronted with feelings of discouragement in her
own flight training. Originally named Female Aviation Student Pilots Sticking
Together, the organization was renamed Ladies
in Flight Training in 2017. Originally solely a group on Facebook, LIFT has
recently expanded through the efforts of Krista and several volunteer members
to include a website.
LIFT is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization, with all proceeds put toward the scholarships it offers to female aviators. Support of LIFT may be done through direct donation or through purchases made through Amazon Smile. Amazon users may select Ladies in Flight Training under the settings in Amazon Smile, whereupon eligible proceeds from purchases will be credited to LIFT and ultimately to scholarship recipients.
